You can use my vast experience, through site visits, to help you understand the building process, spot and avoid potential problems, organise yourself where needed, align tradesmen to work at the right stages, advise on unforeseen problems that inevitably arise, give pointers on getting top level finishes, and generally help you on your journey.

Being able to fully understand your plans before you build, helps to avoid costly mistakes on site. Remember, it is expensive to make changes on site during a build and will result in unnecessary headaches. The best time to plan ahead is at pre-construction stage.
Seeking professional advice at the beginning of your self-build is also the best way to understand what happens in each stage of your project. The biggest mistakes are made when people think that it is OK to build without proper construction plans or costings in place. Short-cutting of the building process is not good practice. If you are not well versed in construction & regulations, you should approach all stages carefully and be guided by construction professionals such as ourselves.
Costly, and avoidable, mistakes on site lead to confusion, can have unintended consequences, can result in a project that may be compromised and will cause a huge amount of stress on you. Site Visits
William fully believes that site visits are the only way to do consultancy. Things are easier for him to explain, and for you to understand, when you can see or touch whatever you are talking about.
Experience
He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry having started his carpentry apprenticeship the day after leaving school. He progressed from apprentice to carpenter, to sub-contractor and then he worked as a foreman. After this he became a main contractor, building for clients, then progressed to project managing entire builds. Now he has turned his hand to consultancy.
Providing Best Services
Green Field Consult:
Three-hour site visit.
The perfect option if you do not have a design or plan in place. This will help guide you on choosing a design, choosing an Architect and Engineer, where to start and everything else needed to get your project up and running.
€ 300.
Solve a Problem Consult:
One site visit as needed.
I will come at short notice to help solve an unforeseen problem or overcome a hurdle that you may be having.
€250.
What’s on Paper Consult:
Send me your drawing and I will review, then a three hour site visit and a follow up phone/ zoom call at a later date (not exceeding 1 hour).
This package is for those who have a design in place. I will go through the drawings/ design in fine detail and walk you through the build process in its entirety. The follow up call is for any queries or anomalies that may arise.
€ 500.
Blocks and Timber Consults:
3 site visits of three hours each, at predesignated stages in your build, and a phone/ zoom call (not exceeding 1 hour) when needed.
This is the best option for those who need that extra input from me at times when I feel it will be of most value to you.
€1,000.
Hold Your Hand Package:
Up to 6 site visits, of three hours each, as needed and phone/ zoom calls as needed.
This is the only option if you want to save money, get your house built the right way, avoid costly mistakes and cut down on personal stress.
€3,000.
